12e08001ebe54d88f656a4b9a0c6b2e9Colossians 3:12-14 ~ As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.  Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.  Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
In these verses, Paul provides guidance as to how we should live as Christians.  Our attitudes and daily lives should be filled with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, patience, forgiveness, and most of all love.  As God’s chosen, we are called to be a vessel for Him.  God desires to use our voice, our hands and our feet for His purpose.  And His ultimate purpose is to demonstrate His love for all His children.  God is love.
Therefore, in our daily lives (365 days a year), we should imitate Christ’s compassion and forgiving spirit.  We should strive to live in harmony with one another.  We cannot live in harmony if there is un-forgiveness.  The key to being able to forgive is to remember just how much God has forgiven you.  If we humble ourselves and think about how much God has loved and forgiven us, it helps us love and forgive others.  The love of God binds everything together in perfect harmony.  That is why each day as we dress, we must remember to clothe ourselves with love.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for being such a loving God.  We are thankful for the grace, mercy and forgiveness You give to us everyday.  We pray that we will be an open vessel by giving grace, mercy and forgiveness to others in our lives. Open our hearts so that we can see when we fall short in being compassionate towards one another.  We pray that our thoughts and actions will reflect Your love.  Amen.
Purpose in Action: Think of 3 ways that you can purposefully show love to others this week.  Then put it in action.
For His Purpose,

Change of Season

December 13, 2015 By LiKeisha Leave a Comment

Ecclesiastes 3:1 ~ There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. Christ was born so that none of us would have to experience the seasons of life alone, whether they are joyous or seasons of sorrow. Just as we have seasons of the year, there are seasons in […]

Overcoming Lonely Places

December 6, 2015 By LiKeisha Leave a Comment

Luke 5:16 ~ But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. (NIV) Some of you may be more familiar with the King James translation of this scripture that says Jesus withdrew into the wilderness.  I always just looked at this verse as Jesus taking time to be alone to pray, which we all should […]

Patiently Waiting

November 29, 2015 By LiKeisha Leave a Comment

James 5:7-8 ~ Be patient, then brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming.  See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains.  You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. Waiting is a part of life.  Even in […]
